05 - Favorite love story in a movie

Azi când am revăzut Love and other drugs m-am gândit că that might be my favorite love story in a movie! Dar m-am înșelat. Filmul ăsta nu e tocmai printre preferatele mele și deși-mi place la nebunie că Jamie are un atac de panică atunci când își dă seama că o iubește pe Maggie și au niște schimburi de replici atipice mi-am dat seama că de fapt (și doamne, cum am putut uita?!) Patrick și Kat mi se par absolut superbi. Și doamne, de câte ori am văzut filmul ăsta --->

Kat: You're not surrounded by your usual cloud of smoke.
Patrick: I know, I quit. Apparently they're bad for you.
Kat: You think?


Patrick: Someone still has her panties in a twist.
Kat: Don't, for one minute, think that you had any effect whatsoever on my panties.
Patrick: Then what did I have an effect on?
Kat: Other than my upchuck reflex, nothing.

Patrick: Was that a yes?
Kat: No.
Patrick: Well, then, was that a no?
Kat: No.


Patrick: Some asshole paid me to take out this really great girl.
Kat: Is that right?
Patrick: Yeah, but I screwed up. I, um, I fell for her.


Kat: You can't just buy me a guitar every time you screw up, you know?
Patrick: Yeah, I know. But then, you know, there's always drums, and bass, and maybe even one day a tambourine.

04 - A movie that makes you sad

Mă cutremură de-a dreptul. Chiar este cel mai trist film pe care l-am văzut cu cât mai mult cu cât e despre ceva ce cândva s-a întâmplat și nu demult.

Eu învățam să merg în 1994, iar în Rwanda mureau
800 000 de oameni;
ceea ce îmi amintește o scenă din Watchmen care m-a făcut să mă înfior când Dr. Manhattan se sărută cu Laurie și pe fundal arată o explozie nucleară. Cum Dumnezeu să-mi pun eu acum o problemă d-asta cretină gen oare cine și de ce moare acum și-n fiecare clipă, Dumnezeu să-i aibă spiritul în pază, și națiuni ca hutu și naziștii s-au apucat să căsăpească, lipsiți de remușcări, civilizații. Da, fiecare să-și apere specia.
Ce simt oamenii când comit o crimă? Cum era Zodiac... ce simțea Zodiac când ciuruia a nu știu câta victimă? Oare se gândea haha, iar am omorât un fraier și poliția n-are cum să mă găsească nici de data asta! Oare pentru unii crima-i ca pentru fumători țigara? Sau o altă nevoie a omului de a se simți de-o seamă cu Dumnezeu. Dar mai au criminalii ăștia un Dumnezeu? Și deja l-am pomenit de patru ori. Ș-acum mă gândesc la Shiki din Kara no kyoukai când a afirmat: You can only murder one person in your life. ș-apoi putem explica asta cu ajutorul lui Stalin: Moartea unui om e o tragedie, moartea a milioane de oameni reprezintă doar o statistică.
Mda, când faci ceva pentru prima oară e mai greu, după care... deja te-ai învățat.

03 - A movie that makes you really happy

Am stat și m-am gândit și mi-este imposibil să aleg.
Zilele trecute mi-am dat seama că un număr generos de filme cu Meg Ryan mă bine dispun. Acesta-n primul rând! Îmi place familia lui Joe Fox, e atât de lipsită de logică. Matthew e adorabil.

Matthew Fox: F-O-X.
Kathleen Kelly: That is amazing, you can spell "fox"! Can you spell "dog"? Matthew Fox: F-O-X.
Câinele lui Joe e <3.
Joe Fox: Hmm. You've... got mail. Some very powerful words.

Sfârșitul mă termină când ea îi zice I wanted it to be you. I wanted it to be you so badly.

Eu aș fi fost like: you fucking bastard!!
but trouble melts like lemon drops high above the chimney tops ...

Nu e tocmai un film fericit, dar e plin de fantezie, culoare, sentimente și oferă un peisaj nemaipomenit.
În copilărie l-am văzut de mai multe ori, dar nu-mi rămăsese în minte decât o imagine cu niște scări și oameni care pluteau pe-acolo și anul trecut căutam filme aiurea și am dat și peste ăsta. Hmm. Robin Williams, titlu interesant. L-am văzut și când am ajuns la scena cu scările imediat mi-am amintit tot ce urma să se întâmple și cât de mult mi-a plăcut prima oară când l-am văzut. Și este unul dintre puținele filme pe care le-aș putea vedea oricând, indiferent de starea de spirit pe care o am.

Annie: Can I sit here?
Chris: Actually, no. Two years ago, I reserved this specific area.
Annie: What if I say please ?
Chris: That's the one exception.

[Chris, having just arrived in the afterlife, meets his dog]
Chris Nielsen: Boy, I screwed up. I'm in dog Heaven.

Chris: I need Annie.
Albert: That'll change in time.
Chris: Oh, come on Einstein! Time's not on my watch anymore. Time does not exist here. And wherever it went, it's not going to make me need Annie any less.

Annie: A whole family lost to car crashes. Enough to make a person buy a bike.

Chris: Where is God in all of this?
Albert: Oh, He's up there. Somewhere... shouting down that He loves us. Wondering why we can't hear Him.

Chris: What some folks call impossible, is just stuff they haven't seen before.

Chris: I forgive you.
Annie: For killing my children and my sweet husband?
Chris: For being so wonderful a guy would choose hell over heaven just to be around you.

Annie: Sometimes, when you win, you lose.

Annie: You taught me the one thing, the only thing, I should always remember.
Chris: Which is?
Annie: I forgot.

Day 01 - The best movie you saw during the last year

Mi-ar fi fost mult mai ușor dacă cerea cel mai bun film făcut în ultimul an. Aș fi zis Inception și scăpam de-o treabă, dar deh... după un lung și complicat proces de gândire și de eliminare și de „nu, ăsta nu, că nu-mi amintesc coloana sonoră.” sau „nu, ăsta merge plasat la altă zi.” sau „oare?” m-am decis laaaa... TATATADAAA: Philadeplhia pentru că:

• nu pot să cred că nu l-am văzut până acum
  
• m-a emoționat și impresionat
• forțează lumea să se confrunte cu temerile sale iraționale și atât de des întâlnite
• caută dreptatea, deschide ochi, atrage atenția spre locurile unde oamenii se încăpățânează să nu privească
  
• pasiunea lui Andrew Beckett pentru operă și scena în care se lasă parcă posedat de muzică este sublimă

Andrew Beckett: Do you like opera?
Joe Miller: I'm not that familiar with opera.
Andrew Beckett: This is my favorite aria. This is Maria Callas. This is "Andrea Chenier", Umberto Giordano. This is Madeleine. She's saying how during the French Revolution, a mob set fire to her house, and her mother died... saving her. "Look, the place that cradled me is burning." Can you hear the heartache in her voice? Can you feel it, Joe? In come the strings, and it changes everything. The music fills with a hope, and that'll change again. Listen... listen..."I bring sorrow to those who love me." Joe Miller: We're standing here in Philadelphia, the, city of brotherly love, the birthplace of freedom, where the, uh, founding fathers authored the Declaration of Independence, and I don't recall that glorious document saying anything about all straight men are created equal. Joe Miller: With all due respect, your honor, we don't live in this courtroom, do we?

Andrew Beckett: I... many things... uhm... uhm... What I love the most about the law?
Joe Miller: Yeah.
Andrew Beckett: It's that every now and again - not often, but occasionally - you get to be a part of justice being done. That really is quite a thrill when that happens.


Andrew Beckett: What do you call a thousand lawyers chained together at the bottom of the ocean?
Joe Miller: I don't know.
Andrew Beckett: A good start.
